Buying a home

For a resale, the base is the price. A new home is estimated with 20% VAT. Notary fees, the guarantee and first-time-buyer reliefs are not calculated.

In Paris, a €200,000 resale pays €10,000 of departmental duty at 5%, €2,400 of communal tax at 1.20% and €237 of assessment fee (2.37% of the departmental duty). Cash to fund is €212,637. Indre stays at 3.80%. The 0.60% Île-de-France tax applies to business premises and is not added.
